The Helderberg is the region where our home town is

The Helderberg, or "bright mountain," is actually a mountain which stands out from the rest of the Hotentots Holland mountain range. It is a favourite hiking place for many and it boasts a beautiful nature reserve. This area is known among other places in South Africa for it's wine estates and for the amphithetre feeling that the surrounding mountains give.

Among the estates to visit in this area is the Lourensford Wine Estate, which hosts a wonderful flower show once a year, Vergelegen and Morgenster which was voted Best Blended Olive Oil in the World in January 2006.
