Belthazar Restaurant and SteakhouseBelthazar advertise themselves as being the best Steakhouse in South Africa and they have in fact received some awards to confirm that, but as I said before, we only give our personal opinion and relate to you our own experiences with a restaurant. 
As far as steakhouses go, this one deserves it's reputation. They are our favourite steakhouse in Cape Town. Should you choose to sit outside, you have a lovely view of Table Mountain, although we prefer to sit inside which is air conditioned and the white tablecloths and white starched serviettes give a grand atmosphere to this lovely restaurant.If you are a lover of South African wines, you are in for a treat. They serve a hundred different wines by the glass and have a selection of 500 wines to choose from. There are always at least one sommelier on duty and you will be delighted with their knowledge of South African wines. The food is excellent and we have never had a steak there that was not of the highest quality. They serve a freshly baked bread as a starter, which is delicious and veggies that accompany the meal is spinach, butternut and beetroot. We also order sautéed mushrooms on a skewer as an additional vegetable. My mouth water even as I am writing this. Booking is essential and they normally have two seatings for the evening.
